Spring’s imminent arrival in Napa Valley means one thing: cheerful, bright yellow mustard everywhere! That pop of sunshine-color was the inspiration for our newest Barrel Bracelet color, which we were both excited to wear while traveling this month. Anne rocked hers on her annual "girls trip" to LA, and I sported mine in Hawaii for my birthday celebration with kids in tow. Wherever we happen to be heading [more often than not, to the grocery store], we love looking down to see a small dose of sunshine and a reminder of home! Here's a few other yellow delights that we love...
1. Napa Valley may be famous for the carpet of yellow that’s rolled out every winter, but Dijon, France is the home of another, equally fabulous mustard that we can’t live without. We use it spread on grilled cheese sandwiches (Croque Monsieur! Ooo la la) and whisked into olive oil and vinegar for salad dressing. maille.com
2. Our other favorite yellow flower: daffodils. They are easy to find at most supermarkets, including Trader Joes and with their low price tag, we’ve been known to fill every room in the house with a bunch or two. traderjoes.com
3.Hello new barrel bracelet colors: Yellow and Peacock. We wear these everywhere: work, home, dinner out with our husbands, at the movies with friends, everywhere. oliveandpoppy.com
4. We both loved the yellow sundress Emma Stone wore in La La Land. The truth is that dress would more more at home in wine country than the City of Stars, but alas it was made just for the movie. We’re consoling ourselves while coveting this pretty number instead. nordstrom.com
5. Cindy Paulson set a benchmark for wine country dining when she opened Mustards restaurant in 1983. Three decades plus later, she’s still rocking it and her cookbook eponymously named for the restaurant is the best. What to make this month: Lemon Meringue Pie of course! amazon.com
